Qualifications
- Masters degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of treatment methods and interventions relevant to corrections and sex offending
- Job-related experience, including conducting individual and group psychotherapy
- Knowledge of psychological assessment and report writing
Role Description
Duties of a Sex Offender Programs Specialist in the Federal Bureau of Prisons involve using evidence-based practices to conduct psychosexual evaluations and treatment with individuals who have committed sexual offenses, including facilitating psychoeducational and group therapy sessions within a modified therapeutic community, treating individual clients, and working through interdisciplinary consultation to address the mental health, risk-reduction, and reentry needs of our population.
