Psychologist 3 (Evaluator) - full time
Salary Range: $54,516 – 84,302 (Excellent benefits)
The Iowa Department of Human Services operates a treatment facility for individuals who have been civilly committed as sexually violent predators. It currently houses 100 males in a secure setting. The Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders (CCUSO) provides state-of-the-art treatment to patients in order to lower their risk of re-offending. CCUSO’s mission is to provide intensive treatment for persons involuntarily committed as sexual offenders who are deemed likely to re-offend. There is a full range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services focused on addressing the conditions impacting a patient’s likelihood of re-offending.
Conducts intake assessments using standard psychological assessment tools and psychosexual assessment instruments, and writes psychosexual evaluations in accordance with standards developed by the Clinical Director and conducts annual reviews. Testing must be conducted in accordance with APA ethical standards and be completed in a timely manner, as established by the Clinical Director. Copies of completed reports must be placed in the patient’s treatment file. All testing information and instruments must be kept confidential and safely stored where they can be accessed only by staff trained in their usage. Court testimony may be required for annual reviews requiring being current in all relevant research and clinical practice areas.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university in a Doctorate Degree program with an emphasis in psychology, behavior analysis or counseling and two years of full-time professional clinical work as a Psychologist in an institutional or community mental health, intellectual disability, long-term care or corrections program;
