The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking talented psychologistsinterested in forensic psychology and sex offender treatment to join multidisciplinary treatment teams for the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of civilly committed sexual offenders.  MSOP is one program with facilities in two locations – Moose Lake and St. Peter, MN.  Led by seasoned and respected professionals, our treatment design integrates clinical, vocational, therapeutic recreation, education, and security throughout all phases of treatment toward the ultimate goal of successful reintegration.

Job Description:

As a Clinical Psychologist, provide comprehensive psychological services as a valued member of the treatment team, including psychological evaluations, crisis intervention, sex offender assessments, and individual psychotherapy.  Provide specialized consultation regarding differential diagnoses, effective treatment strategies, risk management, and other related issues.  Bring leadership and clinical direction to the overall program treatment model and treatment process.  Provide testimony at court and Special Review Board hearings.

Qualifications:

Doctorate in clinical psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.  Experience in administration and interpretation of psychological testing is required, along with competency in differential diagnosis, assessments, and crisis interventions.  We seek individuals with experience in group and individual therapy, as well as familiarity with residential treatment, forensic populations, and court processes.

Moose Lake has a welcoming small-town charm and the area is abundant in lakes, forests, and recreational activities.  Just 30 minutes away, the city of Duluth offers museums, theaters, nightlife, shopping, and fine dining – not to mention the beautiful shores of Lake Superior.

St. Peter is a thriving town of 10,000 situated in the heart of the picturesque Minnesota River Valley.  Ten miles away, Mankato is a city of 50,000 with a state university and a major retail and business center.  This area provides the unique balance of big city conveniences while maintaining its appeal as a close-knit community. The Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul is a quick drive of just 50 miles.
