Psychiatrist
Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC), and agency of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking a Psychiatrist. This position provides direct psychiatric services to patients in accordance with established institution policy, treatment methods, and goals of patients. Duties include prescribing medications and treatments; consultation with patient and family; participates in staffings or case conferences and other clinical/administrative meetings as required; provides consultation to community agencies including courts.
Special Notes: Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Must possess possess a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin plus have completed an approved residency program in Psychiatry. Must be Board Certified in General Psychiatry within three years of hire.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of short and long range treatment planning techniques; Psychiatric/Medical Services; Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM IV) categories. Clear written and oral communication skills. Time management skills. Ability to provide evaluation and treatment of mentally ill and mentally disordered patients.
