LMHC – Therapist, Licensed or License Eligible

            The Therapist is responsible for diagnoses, treatment planning, development and implementation of behavior programs, direct therapy services, consultation and case coordination.  The Therapist addresses the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students with intellectual deficits and a wide range of emotional/behavioral disorders that manifest themselves in self injurious, intrusive, violent and predatory patters, particularly those of a sexual nature.  He/he shall work closely with staff from Education, Family Services, Residential and Medical Departments, as well as the Psychiatrist and administrative personnel.

            The Therapist would need to make appropriate diagnostic assessments of students with behavioral, psychological and learning problems.  As an interdisciplinary team member, develop and implement specific objectives and interventions for client treatment in the social/emotional/behavioral domains and complete all required progress reports.  Ensure that all assessments and behavior programs are duly recorded, disseminated and interpreted to all relevant staff or other parties.    Provide intense therapy and social skills training on a group and individual basis to assigned caseload as required.  Provide liaison services to agencies, clinics, court officials and families pertaining to risk levels, status and treatment needs of individual students.

            We are seeking a Master’s level therapist (licensed or license eligible) to provide individual and group psychotherapy, develop and maintain treatment plans with an interdisciplinary team and manage quarterly documentation.

            Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology or the equivalent.  Must be eligible for or hold MA licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).  Salary range 38-42K based upon degree obtained, license status and experience.
