Riveredge Hospital is a 210-bed leading psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services and trauma-informed care to children, adolescents and adults. The hospital offers inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and community residential programs. Riveredge is a Joint Commission approved, Top Performer and state licensed facility focused on short-term crisis stabilization programs. Under the direction of the Director of Residential Treatment Center, provides for the delivery and documentation of age specific, sexual psychotherapy and case management.
Provides clinically sound individual, family, and group therapies within required time frames and establishes therapeutic relationships with residents, families and referring agencies.
- Complete psycho/sexual initial assessment within 30 days. Involvement in assessment phase of resident treatment, specifically to aid in identification of core issues determining patient capacity for treatment.
- Develops and maintains IM+CANS/MTP. Initial developed within 7 days of intake and then repeated IM+CANS at minimum every 180 days.
- Provide ongoing clinical care (individual, family, group therapy) to residents as determined by assessment and ordered by M.D.
- Responsible for co-leading resident staffings and completing paperwork in a timely manner.
- Responsible for documentation in resident medical record following each treatment intervention.
- Responsible for timely reviewing of new referrals, consulting with unit Medical Director and Program Director regarding any perceived challenges to referral acceptance, and responding to referral agencies accordingly.
- Responsible for completing assigned reports for DCFS, court, etc.
- Responsible for assisting in the discharge planning process for each resident.
- Facilitates/direct therapeutic groups to all residents based on unit needs/goals.
- Leads Sexuality Groups and provides individual therapy regarding these issues weekly.
Promotes safe and therapeutic interdisciplinary resident care through consultation and supervision, effective communication, interactions with and training of direct care staff, and milieu interventions.
- Guides all clinical programming for the unit. Works with Program Director, Care Coordinator and unit MHA’s to build and maintain a robust daily program that supports resident therapeutic and vocational needs.
- Identifies difficult cases to determine if further interventions are required to achieve appropriate clinical outcomes.
- Provides supportive consultation on daily program and all identified CEA/MHA2 PI projects.
- Uses de-escalation, mediation, conflict resolution and other less restrictive responses in relationship to the level of the patient while safely managing patient aggression.
- Conveys information to department related to clinical care and program involvement.
- Along with the Program Director, maintains updated Program Description/Plan, clarity of program components (including phase/level system) and annual review of resident handbook.
- Complete, at minimum 1 x per year, unit training needs assessment and development of training calendar. Present or coordinate other trainers to provide monthly/quarterly trainings related to sexually problematic behaviors, appropriate interventions for residential population and other needs as assessed.
- Participates in customer service/referral source relationship maintenance effectively. Collects and organizes referral data – reports following on a monthly/quarterly basis:
- Number of referrals
- Number of accepted residents
- Number of denied referrals and reasons for not choosing Riveredge program.
- Maintains balanced work schedule that allows for influence and support of residents and staff on all shifts. Weekend work hours or visits are encouraged.
Masters Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or rehabilitation counseling.
Must have strong clinical assessment skills. Previous experience (3 years or more) with youth with sexual behavior problems required.
Coordinator must possess a terminal state license (LCSW, LCPC, PsyD) state license within first year of employment. If state license is not a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) or Licensed Sex Offender Evaluator (LSOE), coordinator must possess one of these within 2 years of starting this position.
Must possess physical and emotional health to meet the demands of this position.
Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate training and an ability to work with patients of any age.
Must maintain CPR certification.
