Toronto, Ontario Are you a strong leader with extensive experience in the social service sector? If so, then consider this opportunity with Thistletown Regional Centre (TRC), a children`s mental health centre directly operated and funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Four distinct clinical programs offer a variety of assessment and treatment services for infants, children, youth and their families. The SAFE-T (Sexual Abuse: Family Education & Treatment) program is a community-based clinic that provides specialized assessment and treatment to children, youth and families who have experienced sexual abuse. The SAFE-T program requires a manager to assume responsibility for the program’s assessments with children and youth who have been sexually abused within their families, children with sexual behaviour problems, and youth who have sexually offended. You will also: oversee the provision of consultation and training services to children’s mental health centres, school boards, Child Welfare and Youth Justice, including judges, Crown attorneys and probation officers; and supervise staff of the SAFE-T assessment team. Location: 51 Panorama Court, Toronto. Qualifications: master’s degree in social work or equivalent level of postgraduate training and clinical social work experience; demonstrated extensive knowledge, specialized training and experience in the areas of child sexual abuse, adolescent sexual offending, and children with sexual behaviour problems, children’s mental health, behavioural, social sciences/social work disciplines, legislation and regulatory provisions related to the delivery of specialized clinical assessment, treatment and consultation services; sound knowledge and awareness of the most recent research as it relates to the assessment and treatment, i.e., individual, family work and group work with children and youth who have experienced trauma in relation to sexual abuse, children with sexual behavioural problems and youth who have sexually offended; extensive knowledge and understanding of the clinical needs and service delivery system required for community-based children/adolescents as well as youth involved in the youth criminal justice system with specific emotional, behavioural, developmental, social, psychological/psychiatric difficulties; understanding of, and ability to interpret children’s mental health legislation, e.g., Child and Family Services Act (CFSA) and Youth Criminal Justice legislation; awareness of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) best practice guidelines; demonstrated knowledge of human resources management to supervise staff, and manage program budgets and training requirements; demonstrated project management skills to plan, organize, implement and evaluate program services; proven leadership, team-building and managerial skills; proven communication, consultation and interpersonal skills; effective decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
