Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship

Liberty Healthcare seeks applicants for a one-year Pre-doctoral Psychology Internship at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment & Detention Facility in Rushville, Illinois.

Rushville is located in west central Illinois – approximately 30 minutes from Macomb (home of Western Illinois University) and one hour from Springfield (the State Capital). Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis and the Quad Cities are all within a four hour radius.

This one-year internship will offer the selected candidates the opportunity to participate in intensive sex offender specific group therapy with an experienced co-therapist. Interns will function as members of multidisciplinary teams providing psychological testing and report writing; treatment planning; as well as, group and individual treatment. Interns will participate in weekly training in multiple formats including case conferencing, multidisciplinary treatment plan staffing, staff trainings and didactic seminars. Two licensed psychologists will provide supervision to the Interns.

The starting date for this Internship is September, 2009. This is a full-time position offering an annual stipend of $35,000 per year with full benefit package which includes 6 weeks of annual paid time off, medical and dental insurance, paid training and relocation assistance. Interns are permitted to work compressed four-day forty-hour workweeks.
