Key components of ATSA's foundation focused on the prevention of sexual abuse through the  dissemination of information about the research, assessment/evaluation and treatment of individuals who are at risk of perpetrating a sexual offense and to establish practice standards and guidelines for the assessment/ evaluation and treatment of individuals at risk of perpetrating these offenses. Providing forums for individuals to learn and practice professional skills, have access to the most current research, receive mentoring and foster wellness provides a strong membership better able to effectively work within all aspects of the field of sexual abuse.  Open and inclusive learning forums allow everyone in the field of sexual abuse prevention to learn from each other and capitalize on the strengths of a multi-disciplinary approach to a public health problem.
